Derek Lam

Derek Lam launched his eponymous line in 2003 after 12 years of multi-national experience as a designer for luxury brands such as Michael Kors. In September 2003, Derek unveiled his first collection at New York Fashion week to much critical acclaim. Derek is known for his classic, wearable, and unpretentious fashions. He was presented with the CFDA Swarovski award in 2005, which honors emerging designers. Derek proudly hails from the Bay Area and often speaks of how he grew up admiring the wedding gowns produced in his grandparent’s San Francisco garment factory.
