The mandate of the Legal Aid Society - Employment Law Center remains the same as it was at its founding 94 years ago—to secure equal access to justice for persons who cannot afford legal counsel. The Society keeps this legacy alive by providing free legal services to low-wage and unemployed workers. They represent workers who are at the greatest risk of job loss or are unemployed as a consequence of unlawful practices in the workplace. The aim of the Legal Aid Society - Employment Law Center is to keep their clients on the job so that they can support their families, maintain financial independence, and participate in the life of their communities.
